Students, faculty, and staff must use their Osprey 1Card to enter the library building. This provides additional security to patrons.
All currently-enrolled students can access online library resources from off-campus by logging in with your UNF credentials.
The Carpenter Library offers a number of student study spaces, both for groups and individual quiet study. The 1st and 2nd floors are collaborative study floors, and groups are welcome to socialize. The 3rd and 4th floors are our quiet study floors, where talking is not advised. The library has a variety of furniture arrangements to accommodate each learning style, and you are welcome to re-arrange any furniture on wheels for your convenience. Additionally, in our Library Commons on the 1st and 2nd floor, we have over 1,300 electrical outlets to accommodate your laptop and mobile device needs.
Study Rooms are located on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors and are only available to current UNF students, faculty, and staff. A valid N# and UNF email address is required to place a study room reservation. To make a study room reservation, visit the reservation system.
Freestanding Group Rooms are first come, first served on the 2nd floor in the back of the East wing. These 6 rooms have an open set-up and have glass walls for writing with dry-erase markers. The furniture is on wheels, so feel free to re-arrange to fit your group's study needs.
The Osprey Spirit Room is located on the 2nd floor, just East of the stairwell. This room includes various furniture such as booths, high tops, and benches. Swoop!
Media:Scapes are located on the 1st and 2nd floors. Please visit this guide on how to use our Media:Scapes. Adaptors may be checked out from the circulation desk on the 1st floor. On the 1st floor, there is 1 stationary Media:Scape and 1 mobile Media:Scape located just beyond the circulation desk on the West wall. On the 2nd floor, the stationary Media:Scapes are along the West wall and offer single or dual screens. A mobile Media:Scape is also located on the 2nd floor near the freestanding group rooms. Feel free to move Media:Scapes to your group's workspace, but we ask that they not leave the floor you find them on.
Quiet Reading Rooms are located on the 3rd floor in the West wing. Feel free to get comfortable in any of these naturally lit study rooms and enjoy the surrounding view.
In addition to off-campus access to resources through remote log in, the Carpenter Library is committed to providing access to all users inside the Library building, regardless of ability/disability. Check out campus Student Accessibility Services for UNF-wide accommodations.
