The University of North Florida Thomas G. Carpenter Library’s overall mission of support for learning remains consistent, however, the way we offer services continues to evolve to stay on-trend with the nation's leading libraries.
Last year there were more than 761,000 visits to the UNF Library by students, faculty and community members. The UNF Library facility is critical for housing materials and our community's history, providing quiet study space, facilitating collaborative learning to promote an inclusive future workforce, and providing access to online materials vital to research and class assignments.
In recent years the UNF Library also made it possible for students and faculty to access more than 320,000 e-books, over 38,000 online journals, and download more than 1.5 million documents online. In fact, in 2017-18 researchers from 217 countries utilized this library's educational resources. The UNF Library offers a vast amount of online information in Digital Commons - our “library without walls” - and also believes it is important to provide online recognition of our supporters.
Approximately 12,000 (75%) UNF students receive some type of financial aid (need-based grants, loans, scholarships), therefore your generosity to the UNF Library -- which positively impacts at least 90% of students -- is critical. Please browse each of the Library Funding Priority tabs for sure-fire ways you can support student success!
We deeply appreciate everyone’s contributions as we collectively strive to change the world one step at a time – one question, one book, one laptop, one search, one archived collection, one project, one student, one faculty member’s research paper, one financial gift – every effort makes a difference and will enrich our community's future.
With warm regards,
Dr. Brent Mai, Dean
