Loan Information

IMPORTANT NOTICE: iPads must be requested 24 hours in advance. 

iPads are touchscreen devices from Apple that combine the portability of a smartphone with the functionality of a laptop. They’re ideal for reading, research, note-taking, and accessing library resources on the go.  

Please note that Wi-Fi access is available on campus only — the iPads will not connect to Wi-Fi off campus.

Getting Started Guide

How to turn on tablet:

  • Hold the iPad upright with the camera at top facing away from you. Locate the Top button(Power Button)along the upper right edge. Press and hold this button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

How to unlock the tablet (from the lock screen):

  • Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen with one finger. This will display the with one finger from the bottom of the screen. Once unlocked, you’ll arrive at the Home Screen, which shows app icons such as Safari, Settings, Notes, etc.

How to turn off the tablet:

  • Press and hold the Top button along with either the Volume Up or Volume Down button (see arrows) until the power-off slider appears on the screen. Drag the "Slide to power off" slider to the right to power the iPad down.

 

Other tips:

  • Use your fingertip or an Apple Pencil to interact with the screen.
    Press the Home Bar (the thin line at the bottom of the screen) and swipe up to return to the Home Screen..
  • To adjust screen brightness or volume, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open the Control Center.
  • When using apps, tap once to select or open items.
