About the Virtual Learning Center

The Virtual Learning Center (VLC) provides a space for faculty and student interaction with virtual content that enhances learning. Faculty and students can explore and gain a better understanding of this emerging technology with Vive Pro Eye Headsets and a variety of games and experiences.

Virtual Reality is the perception of being physically present in a non-physical world. In other words, it is transporting you to a different, virtual reality.

The VLC is located on the third floor of the library and offers the following:

  • 16 Dell desktop computers: 3 standing and 13 sitting spaces
  • 13 wired Vive Pro Eye Virtual Reality headsets
  • 3 wireless Vive Pro Eye Virtual Reality headsets
  • Steam - Virtual Reality software. Offers experiences and games.
  • Unity - Software that allows Virtual Reality builds and customization. Users must provide their own Unity login
  • 3 loanable Oculus Go's
  • A creation space for creatives

The VLC now has access to 15 Meta Quest 2 headsets, made available through a partnership with the UNF Digital Humanities Institute. The VLC also has 16 Meta Quest link cable which makes the full Meta PC-VR (formerly Oculus rift) VR applications available in addition to the Quest applications.
