If you require a time or date that is not available on the calendar, please email the Library Instruction (lib-instruction@unf.edu) team.

Instruction Requests

Faculty and staff of UNF and the Jacksonville community can request library instruction for their class, group, and/or program.  These sessions can be in person or online. Please see the Library Instruction guide for additional details.  When you book Library instruction, you may expect an instruction librarian to teach your class the tools they may use to research at the Thomas G Carpenter Library.  Make sure you specify what tools you may want taught and any special topics you might want covered in research.

Virtual Learning Center (VLC) Instruction Requests

VLC Instruction Requests will book your class in the Virtual Learning Center with the Virtual Learning Librarian who will guide your students through the use of the VR Equipment and teach them the mechanics of using the Virtual reality experience or software used during the instruction.  Read the VLC LibGuide for the available VR Experiences in the VLC

The UNF-Digital Humanities Institute has provided Meta Quest 2 use in the VLC as well. Check out the Meta Experiences here.

Book a VR Station in the VLC

The VLC welcomes individual bookings of VR Stations for Faculty Staff and Students.  Everyone is welcome to log in to their own VR accounts or to use the VLC VR Station's Steam or Meta-PC Accounts to access the VR experiences.  The VLC also has an account on SideQuestVR which accesses independently created VR experiences that can be loaded on to the Meta Quest 2 wirelessly.

The VLC also supports the research efforts of Faculty at the University by loading independent VR expereinces created by UNF Faculty and Students:
