Introduction to Article Types

Stack of magazines

Welcome! This guide aims to provide basic guidance on the primary types of periodical publications available and the characteristics of the articles that they publish.

Articles from periodicals will play a central role in any research project, so the choice of appropriate types of articles is critical to the success of the project. There are so many types of publications available to the researcher, that the choice of what to include, alone, can be daunting.
