This library guide was created for the 2025 NCCE Summit for the presentation "Transform Teaching in the Library with Library Guides." During this presentation, we will:
- Define Library Guides
- Discuss the K-12 Librarians' roles in college/university readiness
- Explore options for teachers and librarians to incorporate library guides into library and research classes
- Point to the Library Guide Assessment Standards for Quality-Checked Review (LGAS) rubric when designing library guides
Watch this brief tutorial to understand what a library guide is:
Moukhliss, S. (n. d.). What are library guides? Canvas Studio.
Today during this presentation, we will navigate the blue tabs on the left. The Start Here tab introduces you to the purpose of the guide. The Facts about Library Guides tab will discuss the pros and cons of the tools as stated in the research and also introduce how K-12 educators can teach with library guides to prepare students for university research. The next two tabs will introduce you to a rubric for building quality library guides and sample library guides you may consider using in the classroom.
