Instruction Request Episode 14 Spring 2025 Research support & Spring 2025 Wrap up

Episode 14 of the Instruction Request Podcast covers all of the Instruction Unit initiatives of the Spring 2025 semester: Libirary Liaisons, Pop Up Library Instruction (PULI), Librarian Open office hours (LOOH)  The Research party and the DLC Library Research Prize.  The episode, also, highlights the  resources particularly helpful for the  Faculty and Students who are researchers, including:

  • Dissertations & Theses @ UNF -Citations and abstracts of UNF student's dissertations and theses, as well as the full text in PDF format, when available.
  • Dissertations & Theses Global - Collection of dissertations and theses from around the world. Citations range from 1861 to present day and offers full text for graduate works added since 1997.
  •  UNF Digital Commons - the institutional repository for the University of North Florida and a service of the Thomas G. Carpenter Library

The highlighted interview of the episode is with Dr. Deborah Williams,  from the Instruction unit. Deborarh is the Scholarly Communications Librarian at the Thomas G. Carpenter Library. In the podcast, she explains how her services can help the researcher to achieve their goals. Her  Read and Publish Library guide provides information about current Read and Publish Agreements between The University of North Florida's Thomas G. Carpenter Library and journal publishers.  Deborah can also help Faculty members with gathering  promotion and tenure information for their portfolio. 

The episode also highlights the Matterport Pro 3 camera, that is only available for Faculty checkout in the  virtual learning Center (VLC.)  Many virtual tours have been completed using the matterport camera. Many of the Virtual Tours completed by Research Technology service were completed by Dr. Robert Richardson using the Matterport Pro 3 available in the VLC.
