In 2017, the Jacksonville Historical Society and the Museum of Science & History, Jacksonville compiled data about the scope and nature of historical collections pertaining to the greater Jacksonville area. The data is intended as a first step for area historical organizations to make their collections more accessible to the public, to provide better referral services to researchers and donors, and to collaborate in future collections acquisition efforts and preservation.
