UpToDate

This guide will discuss the UpToDate database and how UNF students and faculty may utilize it.

Creating an Account

Registering for an UpToDate account allows you to access evidence-based recommendations online and earn CME/CPD credits for researching clinical questions.

To create an UpToDate account -

  1. Visit the library databases page and navigate to UpToDate or visit the UpToDate Website.
  2. If you are not already signed in to the university's network, you will be prompted to complete the Single Sign On (SSO) process.
    1. Sign in with UNF email - ex: n123456789@unf.edu
    2. Enter password
    3. Complete DUO authentication
  3. Complete the registration form and click the orange Submit Registration UpToDate registration screenbox to create an account.

Using UpToDate on a Mobile Device

If your mobile device/browser supports HTML, cookies, and JavaScript, you can use the library's links to UpToDate from the web browser on your mobile device. No app is required. In fact, the mobile-friendly site looks identical to the app. You will still need a WiFi connection to use UpToDate. The content does not download to your device.

If you prefer, you can install the UpToDate Movile App on up to two devices.

  1. Download the UpToDate app
  2. Log into the app using the credentials you chose when setting up your personal account.

Merging UpToDate Accounts

You may have more than one UpToDate account, if you created your account prior to May 1, 2021. Merging these accounts enables you to keep all of the CME/CE/CPD credits that you earn in one place.

  1. While logged in to one account, click on My Account / Your name in the upper right corner.
  2. Select Consolidate Accounts from the menu options.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the merge.
    1. Log in using the username/password for the secondary account.
    2. A table showing the two accounts will be displayed. If you want to proceed with the merge, click the submit button.
      1. The Source Account will become inactive after you choose to consolidate.
      2. This operation is not reversible.
