Exporting Guide

Exporting an Individual Record

Most of the article databases UNF subscribes to allow a direct export to RefWorks.  Look for the Export function after doing a search.

Here is an example of how to export an article from one of the databases.  Export instructions for all other databases can be found using the Exporting Guide on the left.

An Individual Export from OneSearch

  1. From the citation page of a record, click on the Export icon: "Export" icon which can be found on the tool bar located on the right-hand column of the page.
  2. In the list of options on the right-hand side of the page, under the Save citations to a file formatted for: heading, select 
    "Direct Export to RefWorks" radio button
  3. Click the "Save" button icon, located on the far left-hand side of the page.

 

RefWorks will open in another window, where you can put the citation into the folder of your choosing.

Exporting a Book Record

The UNF Catalog supports direct export to RefWorks.  Look for the RefWorksicon on each record.

 

You can also select multiple items in the catalog into a folder and export all your references at once.

Manually

Users can manually key in references into their RefWorks account.

  1. Click on Add New Reference button located under the toolbar, near the top of the page.

  2. Select an output style from the drop down menu next to Fields used by.  Next, choose the Reference Type (i.e. article, book, etc.).

  3. Enter the reference information in the fields provided. You can access additional fields by clicking the Additional Fields link at the bottom, left-hand side of the page.
     
  4. Then, choose the Folder you want the reference to be added to.

  5. Click on Save Reference when finished.
