Book Reviews

General Databases

Book reviews can be found in newspapers, trade magazines and scholarly journals. Scholarly journals are probably what your professor would prefer. The following list of databases will help you find reviews. Keep in mind that databases that focus on a particular area of study will be more likely to have scholarly book reviews, but the general databases listed below will include scholarly as well as newspapers and trade.

Sometimes linking to book reviews is problematic. Many journals lump all their book reviews in one section of the journal. Many times you'll end up at a page that doesn't look like it has the book review you want.  Just scroll through some of the pages to see if you get to it.  You may just have to go to the table of contents of the journal to find the exact  page where the review is located.
